Radisson Edwardian Hotels (REH) has been appointed to operate a four-star, 169-bedroom hotel development in Londons Docklands.
Due to open in 2007, the riverside hotel will be part of the award-winning New Providence Wharf development, encompassing residential, retail and business and
housing some of the UKs largest financial and media corporations. Being built by international development company Ballymore, the property will be one of the few
luxury hotels available in the Canary Wharf area and will be operated by REH under a long-term management contract.
The hotel will incorporate comprehensive facilities suitable for both business and leisure travellers, including a full range of business facilities
such as conference, meeting and banqueting rooms, a health spa, brasserie, river view restaurant with terrace and a cocktail bar. It will also provide hotel services to residents of the
neighbouring New Providence Wharf buildings.
The hotel will comprise an eight-storey building connected via a triple height glass atrium to the base of New Providence Wharfs iconic 30-storey Ontario Tower.
Designed by world-renowned architecture firm Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), the hotel will have a curved glass, stainless steel and terracotta faade to complement
the developments existing buildings and a contemporary interior designed by
Aukett.
The hotel forms a significant component of New Providence Wharf, Ballymores mixed-use scheme which already includes over 700 residential apartments with an
ancillary health and leisure suite and a further 300 or so to follow in future phases together with shops and offices. The developments exceptional architecture is
complemented by impressive landscaped grounds, which include planted areas, riverside walkways and large-scale water features.
