Checking in for Qantas domestic flights
should become simpler and faster from today, when the airline begins rolling out enhanced QuickCheck facilities at key airports
around Australia.
Qantas Executive General Manager Airports and Catering, Mr Grant Fenn, said the airline's new, enhanced QuickCheck kiosks would make traditional check-in queues a
thing of the past.
"Our
existing QuickCheck service, introduced in 2002, has delivered customers
travelling without bags a fast and easy-to-use check-in service that has
eliminated queuing times." Mr Fenn said.
"The new QuickCheck will take the service to the next level and provide a simpler check-in process for all domestic e-ticket customers travelling with or without bags."
Mr Fenn said that, in less than 60 seconds, customers with bags will now be able to obtain a boarding pass from a QuickCheck kiosk and then proceed to a Bag Drop
point where Qantas customer service staff will accept and tag their bags ready for their flight. Qantas QuickCheck hosts will assist customers with the new process.
The new QuickCheck service will be introduced first in Brisbane, followed by Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra over the next two months. Perth and Adelaide will follow
in early 2006.
Existing QuickCheck kiosks will remain in place in each port until the new facilities become available.
