Six Senses Resorts & Spas appoints Daniel B Reid as Chief Operating Officer

Six Senses Resorts & Spas has appointed Daniel B. Reid as Chief Operating officer. He takes up this role from his current position as Managing Director Americas. His core duties will include overseeing the operational aspects of Soneva Resorts, Evason Hideaways and Evason Resorts.

Prior to joining Six Senses Group in 2004, Dan was Director Lodge Operations for Waiau Bay Farms - a New Zealand-based group comprising a luxury lodge, wineries, golf course and sheep station, plus lodge development plans in Australia and New Zealand. He came to that role from that of Chief Operating Officer for Island Outpost Hotels, a small upscale grouping of 12 hotels and resorts located in Jamaica, Bahamas and Miami Beach.

Dans professional record includes a six-year tenure with Amanresorts as General Manager of Amanpulo Resort in the Philippines, and General Manager and Area Manager of Amanresorts Indonesia at Amanusa Resort in Nusa Dua Bali.

During his career, Dan has also operated resorts in the British Virgin Islands and Antigua, during which time he served as a director of the Caribbean Hotel Association for a period of seven consecutive years. He was awarded General Manger of the year in 1997 by the prestigious hospitality newsletter - The Gallivanters Guide.

Having departed his native Canada to embark on his International hospitality career almost twenty years ago, Dan has been afforded many insights into adapting to new and challenging environments He has developed a keen appreciation of how to establish good working relationships while acknowledging varying cultures, customs and languages.
