The Sofitel Lisboa, located on Lisbon's prestigious Avenida da Liberdade and well-known in the city for more than 13 years, re-opened its doors
today following a complete renovation.
Renowned international architects/designers Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet, French couture fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and florist Carlos Filipe
have created an ambience at the Sofitel Lisboa that is a distinctive blend of French culture and Portuguese traditions, as well as of the past and future. Classic
French and Portuguese artwork intermingle with modern, innovate creations that illustrate the city by local painter Manuela Mahr. The hotel's decor features various shades of
red inspired by Port wines, gold symbolizing the city's historical roots dating back to the Age of Discovery and dark wood furniture in traditional
Portuguese fashion.
The
171 rooms, Sofitel Lisboa, will offer Sofitel's signature MyBed, a plush bedding collection, and Roger & Gallet bath products. In addition, each guest room is
equipped with voicemail, high-speed Internet access, Web TV, climate-control air conditioning and an in-room safe.
The hotel's trendy restaurant, Ad
Lib, offers international cuisine integrating French and Portuguese ingredients and influences.
The hip Intra-Muros Bar - a historical reference to the Poiares (the ancient term for walls) of the City - is ideal for enjoying a cigar or O'Porto wine.
The décor of the lounge mixes Asian and Portuguese influences, featuring an extensive collection of Asiatic paintings, sculptures and ancient vases, as well as designs from the Portuguese
colonial empire and a library housing books about Portugal and famous Portuguese explorers.
For business guests, the hotel provides a dedicated business area on the first floor, with seven meeting rooms accommodating from 10 to 250 people and one board
meeting room, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
