US Airways is coordinating a voluntary donation campaign for its employees in an effort to provide aid for those devastated by the Asian tsunami disaster.
The corporate effort is in cooperation with employees systemwide to manage the collection and distribution of donations.
"Our employees have overwhelmingly voiced their desire to assist with tsunami relief efforts, and as a company, we are eager to aid in the relief efforts for millions of
victims in any way that we can," said Chris Chiames, US Airways senior vice president of corporate affairs.
US Airways has identified The American Red Cross and Samaritan Children’s Home, a non-profit organization that is working to rebuild an orphanage devastated by the
tsunami in Sri Lanka. All donations are to be evenly distributed by the
airline between The American Red Cross and Samaritan Children’s Home.
