Kerala Tourism, organizers of India's only boating & marine industry exhibition, announced today that the fourth India International Boat Show [IIBS]
will be held in Cochin, from 30 September to 2 October 2005.
The fast-growing show, which enjoyed a record number of international exhibitors last year, is both driving and responding to India's appetite for leisure boating.
Following the success of the 2004 edition, the organizers have once again decided to hold India's first and only international boat show in Cochin, one of India’s fastest
growing cities and an emerging business hub in South India.
Said Mr. E K Bharat Bhushan, Secretary – Kerala Tourism and Chairman - IIBS Organizing Committee, “IIBS 2005 will focus on the growing domestic boating & marine
industry market and will present boating as a credible & highly exciting leisure activity to India's fast-growing segment of high net worth individuals and the ever
burgeoning middle class.”
IIBS 2005 will feature a high profile gala opening, other innovative & exciting events, product demonstrations both on land and water, informative seminars, prestigious
awards and media gatherings. The show’s unique features and its repeated successes underlines the event’s positioning as South Asia’s Definitive Boat Show. IIBS will
present a unique opportunity for international yacht and boat builders to introduce their brands in India and interact with the country's new elite. It will also provide national
and international marine equipment manufacturers with a common meeting ground for networking with the boat building industry in the region.
Mr. TO Sooraj, Director - Kerala Tourism and Secretary, IIBS Organizing Committee
said, “IIBS 2005 will present the marine industry with an unmatched business
opportunity to connect with consumers, vendors and suppliers while positioning Kerala as India’s exclusive MICE
destination.”
This year’s edition, the third since it went global after the inaugural national event in 2002, will see increased participation, with a majority of exhibitors from the earlier
editions already having expressed their intention to participate. The organizers are
also making special arrangements to accommodate country pavilions & regional industry
groupings in the show this year.
