Gulf Air has been placed on the IOSA registry
following its successful completion of the IATA Operational Safety Audit
(IOSA).
The certification was formally awarded to Gulf Air Head of Flight Safety and Quality Assurance Captain Manin Al-Said at a ceremony in Geneva.
“The IOSA audit was conducted and completed in a record time of just 30 days and that in itself is a significant achievement by the Gulf Air team,” he said.
“This award is a testament to the commitment of every Gulf Air employee toward upholding and maintaining world class safety and quality standards.”
Praising the dedication and continuous efforts of Gulf Air management and staff to achieve the certification ahead of schedule Gulf Air President and Chief Executive
James Hogan said this significant milestone was a result of Gulf Air’s strong and continuous commitment to the highest levels of international safety and quality
standards set by IATA in all fields of aviation.
“I applaud the efforts of all the Gulf Air team members involved in attaining this significant milestone in the history of Gulf Air,” he said.
IOSA audits were developed by IATA and determine the standards for safety and quality covering various areas in the airlines activities such as:
Corporate Organisation & Management Flight Operations
Operational Control/Flight Dispatch Aircraft Engineering & Maintenance
Cabin Operations Aircraft Ground Handling
Cargo Operations Operational Security
The programme aims to standardise and promote air safety practices and is recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the Federal Aviation
Authority (FAA), JAA and other aviation authorities around the world.
