Three markets experienced RevPAR growth of more than 10.0%: Athens (+31.1% to EUR108.10); Copenhagen (+23.5% to EUR128.57); and Edinburgh (+10.3% to EUR103.95).

In August 2014, the region’s occupancy rose 1.1% to 72.6%; ADR remained virtually flat, rising 0.3% to US$116.54 while RevPAR was up 1.4% to US$84.63.

In September, in year-on-year comparisons, the region reported a 13.1% increase in occupancy to 65.5%, a 1.3% increase in ADR to US$145.12 and a 14.5% increase in RevPAR to US$94.99.

According to STR, the Caribbean hotel industry experienced noticeable performance decreases in Q1 2016 that can in part be linked to the spread of the Zika virus. Compared with the April year-to-date period of 2015, the Caribbean’s occupancy rates fell 3.0% to 72.9%, ADR was down 1.4% to US$268.86 and RevPAR dropped 4.4% to US$195.99.
