The Airbus Military A400M flew over Thailand for the very first
time today (19 April 2012), as it takes part in the celebrations
of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Thai Air Force – “The
Centennial of the RTAF Founding Fathers’ Aviation”.
The visit is part of the first Asia Pacific Tour the A400M has
made, visiting Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, then Chiang Mai and finally
Bangkok, before returning to Europe.
The aircraft for the tour is “Grizzly 4”, one of the five
development aircraft.
Malaysia is the first Asian customer, having ordered four
of the new aircraft, which has as its launch customer nations
Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Turkey and the UK.
