Star Cruises, "The First Global Cruise Line" and "The Leading Cruise Line in Asia-Pacific" is pleased to announce the positioning of SuperStar Aries and the resumption of cruises from Keelung, Taiwan for the summer season.
SuperStar Aries, which has been operating destination cruises out of Singapore since her redeployment from Bangkok arrives in Keelung today and will be showcased to the public, local media and travel trade professionals.
SuperStar Aries will commence cruises from Keelung, Taiwan on 31 March 2002 offering 4-Day/3-Night and 3-Day/2-Night cruises to destinations in Naha and Ishigaki (Japan) with departures on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for her scheduled cruise season from 31 March to 27 September 2002.
The positioning of SuperStar Aries in Taiwan is in line with the expected recovery of the global cruise industry following the unprecedented 11 September events and global economic downturn which affected Star Cruises' operations in Taiwan, resulting in the withdrawal of SuperStar Taurus late last year.
"Travel indicators point to an earlier than expected recovery of the cruise industry in the second half of the year, and Star Cruises is obviously keen to return to an important and familiar market that we have been developing. SuperStar Aries' reputation precedes her and we hope that the Taiwanese public will take to cruising on a ship that has been rated as "The Best Cruise Ship in World in 1997" by the Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships," said Mr. Chong Chee Tut, Star Cruises' Chief Operating Officer.
