A new Seychelles cruise vacation option is now available to travellers from the Middle East with the launch on April 2 of Le Meridien Pearl of Seychelles a luxury 34-cabin catamaran that will be operated by upscale hotel company, Le
Meridien.
The weekly cruise package can be combined with a stay at the groups two hotels in the Seychelles, Le Meridien Fishermans Cove and Le Meridien Barbarons, and includes visits to seven destinations in the Indian Ocean island chain.
According to Sami Zoghbi, managing director for Le Meridien in the Middle East & West Asia, the cruise offers visitors an opportunity to explore more of the islands at a leisurely pace, while enjoying comforts and an ambience equivalent to that of a private yacht.
We know cruising is becoming a popular vacation option for regional travellers, and this new product represents a unique holiday afloat, without the inconvenience of having to fly thousands of miles to join a ship.
The three-deck catamaran has 34 spacious double cabins, all with seaviews, air-conditioning, private bathroom, plasma screen televisions and safe deposit box, while other features of the vessels include a whirlpool, sundeck, bar and restaurant, shop and English and French speaking crew.
Destinations visited during the seven-day cruise include some of the Seychelles prime attractions such as La Digue, Grande Soeur, Curieuse, Praslin, Cousin, Silhouette and Mahe, and excursions take in many of the unique natural reserves and craft workshops of the islands.
In addition, free watersports are part of the package and include windsurfing, sea-kayaking, water ski-ing and
snorkelling.
Le Meridien regional senior vice president, sales & marketing, Russel Sharpe, said he expected Le Meridien Pearl of Seychelles to appeal to both expatriate and local Arab travellers, offering the high level of service and comfort available in Le Meridien hotels worldwide.
This is a holiday with a difference, and our special launch package price of Euro 2,002 (approximately US$1,740) represents excellent value-for-money for a weeks cruise inclusive of accommodation, all meals and water sports activities, he said.
This is a unique holiday ideal for those who wish to soak up the sun afloat as well as sports enthusiasts and lovers of nature and one major benefit is that the Seychelles are relatively close to the Middle East, involving only a short flight before the guests steps aboard and sets sail on a vacation of a lifetime. |
