Japan Airlines will open a newly created lounge facility - the Sakura Lounge Annex - for special category passengers on the 4th floor of Narita Airport Terminal 2 on April 18, featuring a British pub-style bar, bedrooms for tired transit travelers, massage services, a business corner equipped with broadband wireless access for free Internet connection, a library and a theater-style audio-visual lounge.
Incorporating feedback from passengers and employees, the new lounge is focused on providing a more entertaining and relaxing atmosphere than more conventional lounges.
The emphasis on IT facilities is in line with the Japanese Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transportation and the New Tokyo International Airport Authority (NAA) concept of an "e-airport" for the modern traveler.
With the capacity for some 340 customers, the 1,200 square meter Sakura Lounge Annex can be used by JAL first class and JAL Executive Class - Seasons, (the airline's business class) passengers, Economy class travelers using full-fare tickets (some routes excepted), JAL Global Club members and members of the JAL Mileage Bank holding 'Optimo' and JMB Grande Service category cards.
