American Airlines will begin nonstop service between Miami International Airport and Medellin, Colombia, on June 15. The airline will serve the Miami-Medellin route five times each week with 176-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft featuring roomier coach cabins.
"Medellin becomes our third destination in Colombia, joining our other scheduled flight routes between Miami and Bogota and Cali," said Peter J. Dolara, Americans senior vice president - Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America. "Adding Medellin is part of our ongoing effort to enhance service to the region. And our cabin legroom improvements throughout the fleet assure our travelers of a more comfortable travel experience."
American and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, operate more than 240 daily flights from Miami to more than 80 destinations, including 43 points in the Caribbean and Latin America, and 21 daily flights to seven destinations from Fort Lauderdale.
