The number of corporate buyers at the 25th PATA Travel Mart, April 9-12 in Singapore, has so far exceeded organiser expectations by 35 per cent. One hundred and thirty five corporate buyers have registered for the event to date. With two weeks still to go, Reed Travel Exhibitions predicts the final number of corporate buyers will be about 160.
In addition, 210 leisure sector buyers have registered. "The buyer numbers and mix so far is very encouraging," said Reed Travel Exhibitions Director Sales & Marketing, Mr. Andrew Lee.
Corporate buyer numbers have been boosted by OAG publishing, the airline information specialists.
OAG is holding two business travel planning seminars on April 11 for corporate travel managers and anyone whose job involves making travel arrangements. To cope with demand, an additional seminar will now be held on April 12. Before and after the seminars, delegates will have access to the Mart.
Mr. Lee said seller registration for companies wishing at the last minute to have a booth at the Mart will remain open until March 28.
During the Mart, which has Adventure Travel as the Feature Product, there will be three 25-minute talks by tourism specialist Mr. John Cvetko, in cooperation with Action Asia magazine. He will talk about challenges and opportunities facing the fast-growing niche sector. The talks will take place at 1150 on April 10, 11 and 12.
Other highlights of the 25th PATA Travel Mart include Nepal as Feature Country and a full calendar of evening social functions for all delegates.
In addition, Accor Resort and Golf Management, in cooperation with Asian PGA, and TTG Asia, will sponsor the PATA Travel Mart Golf Tournament at Sofitel Palm Resort on Tuesday, April 9. |
