Bedouins from ten countries will join forces to perform a concert in the Shindagha theatre situated inside the Arabian Bedouin Life encampment on March 28th.
This performance will be a one of a kind event, the likes of which has never been seen or heard before anywhere in the world, said DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mohammed Khamis bin
Hareb.
He noted that this was the very first time that Bedouin musicians, singers and dancers from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Mauritania, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen and the UAE will perform on a common platform.
We are positive that the sounds of the rahbaba, mizvit, tabal, zummara, darbouka and panimbo will regale a packed Shindagha theatre audience, remarked Mr. bin
Hareb.
The Shindagha theatre combines traditional performances with superb light and sound backup, in a beautiful open-air setting overlooking the picturesque Dubai Creek, which makes the whole experience worthwhile.
There is no entry fee to the Shindagha heritage sites and seats at the theatre are made available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The seats at the theatre are not numbered so it is advisable for families to arrive together to avoid the disappointment of sitting separately.
So far the Bedouin performers had each been allotted a 30-minute time slot to perform every evening and this had helped promote their music as well as provided the artistes with an opportunity for musical expression and growth while giving visitors a good show.
This concert will truly reflect the wide ranging styles in Bedouin music and we are positive that commercial recordings of present times will not be able to match the spontaneity and energy in their performances, concluded Mr. bin
Hareb. |
