There are few major surprises, except possibly for the Park Plaza Bangkok edging in, as well as the JJ Hotel in Hong Kong - the latter being a hotel many will have not even heard of. Both of these properties offer excellent accommodation options at reasonable rates, and it is perhaps a reflection of the current economic climate that actual services + quality is being rewarded over perceived quality. In Singapore, the Royal Plaza on Scotts also managed to make it as one of the top hotels in Singapore.

AirAsia pushed up a place in the airline rankings and that could also reflect the numerous low fare promotions the airline ran through 2009, and travellers growing confidence with the low cost airline.

In 2009 we had asked that you base your votes on quality of service, location, value for money, innovativeness, and overall excellence, basically where you would choose to stay.
