Qatar Airways has officially opened its new office in Khartoum making its
presence more felt in the Sudanese capital at a glittering function, which was
attended by a host of luminaries.
The airline's Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker, who led the Qatar Airways team to the opening ceremony in Khartoum said, "The opening of the new Qatar Airways office preceded the raising of the frequency of Doha-Khartoum flights from the current four a week to daily from November 22, 2002."
The Khartoum flight will leave Doha at 11:30 hours to reach its destination at 15:15 hours. The return Khartoum-Doha flight will depart the Sudanese capital at 16:15 to reach Doha at 19:30 hours (all local time).
"With the opening of the office and increasing of the frequency to daily, Qatar Airways will now be able to provide its customers better services as well as enhanced access to centres in the Middle East, Asia and Europe," Al Baker said.
He said the Khartoum office of the airline was opened as part of Qatar Airways plan to open offices around the world, particularly in cities that form part of the airline's growing network.
Al Baker said Khartoum was an important destination for Qatar Airways and the new office located at the centre of the commercial hub of the city would be a boon for customers who would like to make use of the airline's services.
Qatar Airways will fly both the modern Airbus A300-600 and the A-320 aircraft on the Doha-Khartoum route. These aircrafts are known for their safety and comfort features.
