InterContinental Hotels Group
has appointed Ms Carmen Lam as its Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific. Reporting directly to Mr A. Patrick
Imbardelli, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Ms Lam is the latest addition to the
regional executive management team.
Ms Lam has overall responsibility for planning, developing and driving key sales
and marketing strategies to maximise hotel performance. She will be responsible
for extending the Group's brand leadership for InterContinental, Crowne Plaza
and Holiday Inn across the region, driving increased revenue through traditional
and emerging channels and achieving customer loyalty and satisfaction across
the group's hotels portfolio.

experience and expertise in developing and implementing sales and marketing
strategies will be instrumental in leading the group's Sales and Marketing Team to
identify opportunities, maximise revenue and enhance the performance of our
hotels so that we can ultimately deliver value to our owners and to make our
hotels, the top choices for our customers."
Ms Lam brings to the
group in-depth knowledge of the hotel and travel business, with 17 years of experience in the tourism and hotel industry. Before joining
InterContinental Hotels Group, Ms Lam was the Group Director of Sales and
Marketing for Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts based in Hong Kong. Prior to her
promotion in 2001, she was Vice President for Marketing and had previously held
the position of Director of Marketing at two of its hotels in Hong Kong and Jakarta.
While at Shangri-La, she has been instrumental in developing and implementing
programmes and systems to improve hotel performance as well as strengthening
brand positioning, improving sales productivity and leveraging channel distribution.
During her tenure at the Hong Kong Tourism Board between 1997 and 2000, Ms
Lam was the Senior Manager for Tourism Marketing and her achievements include
the development of the "Discover HK" campaign and expanding the reach of the
Hong Kong Tourism Board with local and international travel trade.
Ms Lam will be based in Singapore. |
