Galileo
International today announced that it has completed an agreement with
Jetstar, Australia's newest low-cost carrier.
Under the agreement, Galileo is providing a simplified level of GDS distribution to
Jetstar to complement the carrier's low-fare business model. The agreement
underlines Galileo's commitment to offering subscribers a broad range of
inventory including low-cost carriers such as Jetstar.
"This is a significant addition to our airline content and we are pleased to be able
to offer Jetstar to our travel agency subscribers," said John Guscic, Vice
President, Galileo South Pacific. "Jetstar is a low-fare airline that typically has no
need for complex functionality to support its streamlined business model. Yet we
have demonstrated the value of Galileo as part of the distribution mix for
Jetstar."
Galileo permits agents to sell Jetstar's
flights in the same booking file as another carrier's flights, making it easier for
passengers to book inbound or outbound international flights together with
Jetstar for the domestic journey. |
