Eric Hallin has been appointed as General Manager of the recently opened
and stunning Sila Evason Hideaway & Spa
on the idyllic island of Koh Samui in Southern Thailand.
Eric joins Sila Evason Hideaway following two-years in the Maldives where he managed one of the country’s most successful
resorts, taking it to very high year-round occupancies. His appointment brings him back to Thailand, where he had spent the
previous twenty years in several management roles within the country.
His initial role in Thailand began in the travel industry in the late-1970’s, with Jambo Tours and Vikings Tour. Four years later he
made the crossover to the hospitality sector by becoming Director of Marketing for a leading Bangkok hotel. This was followed
by several tenures as General Manger of properties in Sampran, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Bangkok and
Phuket.
Eric grew up in Sweden, Africa and Greece, and attended Granna College at the University of Stockholm. He later attended
courses at Cornell University, University of Hawaii and Dusit College, and has received several diplomas in Hotel management. In
addition to his native Swedish, Eric is fluent in English, French and Thai languages.
