The
Singapore Tourism Board has estimated the Singapore Visitor Arrivals for August
2003 at 600,000. On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, this represents an increase of 8.2% or 41,136 pax. On a year-on-year basis, the
decline in visitor arrivals continued to improve (-10%).
Furthermore, Hong Kong (+30%), Thailand (+29%), Indonesia (+7%) and India
(+5%) showed positive growth on a year-on-year basis. Other markets, such
as Malaysia (-2%), UK (-8%) and USA (-7%) registered less than average declines.
