Holiday Inn Australia offers Mates Rates for Virgin Money

Travel News Asia 4 June 2003

Holiday Inn has strengthened its relationship with Virgin by becoming a Virgin Money Mates Rates(TM) partner for the newly launched Virgin Credit Card.

Already Virgin Blue's official accommodation partner, Holiday Inn will be providing Virgin Credit Card holders a huge 50% off rack accommodation rates at all Holiday Inn hotels throughout Australia. In addition, Holiday Inn  will be providing exclusive offers to cardholders throughout the year.

The Virgin Credit Card was launched in May to compete with other Australian credit cards by offering low ongoing interest rates, no annual fees and an extensive instant rewards program, Mates Rates rewards.

"Virgin has a reputation for giving consumers more than they bargained for, and Holiday Inn's instant offer for Virgin Money cardholders is certainly that," said InterContinental Hotels Group's Director of Sales and Marketing for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Jolyon Bulley.

"Holiday Inn and Virgin are very like-minded brands. We are both committed to providing excellent value for our customers with innovative products delivered in fun and informal ways. Virgin Money's Mates Rates program is one way that we can do so together," Jolyon said.

Virgin Money's Managing Director, Rohan Gamble was equally enthusiastic, saying "Mates Rates is about offering rewards that give instant value and make a real difference to everyday life, and Holiday Inn's contribution to the program is an excellent example.

"We've partnered with companies valuable to the majority of Australians, which will save people real money everyday," Rohan said.
