Air New Zealand
today announced that the threatened industrial action
next month by FARSA (Flight Attendants and Related Services Association) has
been averted.
This follows a brief hearing in the Employment Court this morning at which
both parties agreed to refer the matter to the Employment Court for a substantive hearing set down for 20 March 2003.
This hearing will determine whether bargaining between Air New Zealand and
FARSA had concluded and, if concluded, whether FARSA can lawfully strike.
Meanwhile any industrial action by Air New Zealand's FARSA affiliated long
haul cabin crew has been deferred. |
