one of the most chic hotels in Asia. The hotel has opened all its outlets
except for the Shambhala Spa and is accepting guests from November 1st.
The
hotel has 174 guest rooms, which range from City Rooms, Studio Rooms,
with the majority being 122 Metropolitan Rooms to suites. The
contemporary design Metropolitan Rooms are amongst the largest in
Bangkok, ranging from 51 - 54 sqm.

To
celebrate its opening The Metropolitan is offering an introductory room rate of US$130
++ for a Metropolitan room per night which includes continental buffet breakfast.
This offer is valid until end February 2004. As
the owner of the hotel is very interested in a healthy lifestyle the
property's,
Shambhala Spa, which is expected to open mid November will cover an amazing 1,200 sqm
and will offer a wide range of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments. Like its London sister on Park Lane, The Metropolitan is not only a
fashionable haven, but also unveils an iconic Met Bar (only the second
Met Bar in the world). This fashionable members only bar is very much
aimed at celebrities, models and Bangkok's cosmopolitan set, and will
offer guests a comfortable, relaxing and cosy environment which features
a small dance area, low sofa style seating and 2 resident DJ's. Hotel
guests will be allowed inside.
The headline restaurant
at the hotel is Cy’an, with Moorish, seafood-centric menus
overseen by Amanda Gale, a brilliant Australian chef formerly of the
world renowned Rockpool, Sydney. The second restaurant, Glow, is an oasis of organic,
health conscious, energising cuisine.
Conceived by Christina Ong, owner of COMO Hotels and Resorts, and
designed by Kathryn Kng, one of Singapore’s hottest interior
architects, The Metropolitan is roughly a 10 minute walk from Bangkok’s
skytrain, and 30 minutes from the International Airport. |
