Starting this month, Asiana Airlines customers in the United States will be able
to purchase air tickets online thanks to a partnership between the Korean
carrier and Abacus International, a leading travel facilitator in
Asia-Pacific.
GetThere, an online booking solution provided by Abacus,
provides an easy and convenient way to purchase air tickets for all flights out of the United
States to various Asiana destinations through the Asiana Airlines website. The GetThere booking engine provides instant, online
flight confirmation and ensures passengers of secured payment by credit card.
The service will also be made available to customers in Australia, Germany,
Hong Kong, United Kingdom and Singapore in the near future.
A complementary feature, VirtuallyThere, will allow customers to view
personalised itineraries, weather forecasts, currency converters and destination information including maps, city guides and travel alerts. The
information is available in multiple languages and may be accessed through
wireless and palmtop devices.
“The flexibility of GetThere is designed to meet the needs of an international
airline such as Asiana. We see the implementation of GetThere as an extension
of Abacus’ commitment to provide our customers with viable web booking
solutions and a platform upon which they can build their e-business,” said Mr.
Rogelio Sarreal, Abacus Vice-President of Associate Sales Division.
"We are confident that the user-friendly interface and the state-of-the-art
GetThere booking engine will wow our customers as they can now look for flight schedules and make their own bookings easily and securely with a
single login. We are optimistic that our new service will attract more visitors
throughout the world and provide them with more extensive travel
options." said Arnold Choe, General Manager, Internet Marketing Team, Asiana Airlines. |
