The Imperial, New Delhi,
has selected Six Senses Spas to develop its new spa facilities.
“We have joined hands with Six Senses for developing a one-of-its-kind Spa
that has not been seen or experienced before in Delhi or India. Six Senses
was a natural choice for us on account of their high standards, emulative
work culture and professionalism,” says Mr. Pierre Jochem, the Vice President & General Manager at The Imperial.
The Six Senses Spa will be sited in the garden grounds of the legendary
hotel, and will incorporate an area of approximately 2,500 square metres.
The eleven treatment rooms will include two Ayruveda rooms and a suite especially designed for
traditional wedding preparations and for honeymooners.
The interiors feature arches and vaulted ceilings conceived with simple
clean lines and highlighted with touches of Mogul design reminiscent of the
region’s glorious heritage. Architectural ingenuity has provided for abundant daylight to enter through cleverly positioned skylights. Together
with state of the art construction and water features, a serene ambience will
be created from which it will be impossible for guests to imagine that they
are just a few steps from the centre of the city.
“The Six Senses Spa at The Imperial exemplifies the versatility of our spa
group, where quality of treatments and expertise adapt seamlessly to local
cultures”, said Managing Director of Six Senses, Mr. Bernhard
Bohnenberger, who directed the Bangkok based interior design team, P49.
The treatments offered at the Six Senses Spa will be comprehensive,
ranging from traditional eastern and western techniques encompassing holistic wellness, to scrubs and wraps, a head-to-toe beauty salon for the
ladies and a barber shop for gentlemen.
A state-of-the-art gym will compliment the spa and will be open around the
clock for guests of The Imperial and invited club members. A multipurpose
area will be adaptable for meditation, and activities such as tai chi, aerobics
or a game of squash. A tennis court will also be incorporated into the complex.
“With the addition of the Six Senses Spa, The Imperial continues to present
high-end lifestyle facilities entrenched in the fine tradition of Asian
hospitality to its discerning guests,” asserts Mr. Pierre Jochem. |
