All facets of the Information Technology industry will be well represented at
the 23rd edition of GITEX as organizers Dubai World Trade Centre announced
that more than 35,000 square metres of gross exhibition space in eight interconnected halls was sold out with more than a month still to go for the
event that takes place from 19th to 23rd October.
"Leading IT companies have indicated strong enthusiasm in GITEX Dubai
2003 with industry leaders like IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, HP, Samsung,
Toshiba, Canon, NEC, Acer, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Sony, Fujitsu, Sanyo,
Etisalat, DAFZA, Thuraya and Epson among others securing a strong presence at the show," said DWTC Director General, Mubarak bin
Fahad.
He noted that the participation of international IT leaders would involve
product launches, conferences, seminars and on stand promotions to attract
trade visitors to the show.
GITEX this year will showcase an entire range of IT related products
and services with a significant focus on e-business and e-commerce solutions.
Other products include uninterrupted power supply solutions, desktop publishing, digital imaging & information management Internet products,
mobile computing & WAP technology, networking & business communication,
office automation, computer hardware and many others.
In order to accommodate increased participation at GITEX 2003, the Dubai
World Trade Centre has begun selling space in the new Sheikh Rashid Hall
that will accommodate more participants and provide an additional 7,760 square metres of gross space.
GITEX 2003 incorporates several new elements in the show including a new
registration system called E-Access to better serve exhibitors and visitors to
the exhibition and enable swift and easy access to exhibitions and to reduce
queues.
Also new at this year's GITEX will be a
mobile exhibition guide that will provide
all exhibitors and visitors carrying a personal digital assistant (PDA) or mobile
phone with a comprehensive index of exhibitors and a detailed floor plan to
facilitate good networking at the exhibition.
This new service is designed to simplify navigating the event for trade visitors
and provides them with an efficient planning aid to meet the exhibitors they
want, swiftly and effortlessly. |
