Philippine Airlines Re-Routing Manila Passengers to Cebu

Philippine Airlines has confirmed that it is re-routing passengers originally booked to fly to Manila because of quarantine processing limitations at Manila airport.

The following PAL flights will be re-routed to land at Mactan Cebu International Airport (CEB) instead of in Manila:

• PR 103 departing Los Angeles (LAX) on 10 July -- will operate on 10 July as PR5103 (Los Angeles to Cebu), departing LAX at 11:55 PM, and arriving in CEB at 5:00 AM on 12 July.

• PR 105 departing San Francisco (SFO) on 8 July -- will operate as PR 5105, (San Francisco to Cebu), departing SFO at 11:55 PM and arriving in CEB at 5:00 AM on 10 July.

• PR 508 departing Singapore (SIN) on 10 July -- will operate on 11 July instead as PR5508 (Singapore to Cebu), departing SIN at 2:15 PM and arriving in CEB at 6:35 PM. The re-timing to an 11 July departure is necessary to align with the approved slots at Cebu airport.

• PR 508 departing Singapore (SIN) on 12 July -- will operate on 13 July instead as PR5508 (Singapore to Cebu), departing SIN at 2:15 PM and arriving in CEB at 6:35 PM. The re-timing to a 13 July departure is necessary to align with the approved slots at Cebu airport.

• PR 437 departing Nagoya (NGO) on 11 July -- will operate as PR5437 (Nagoya to Cebu), departing NGO at 2:00 PM and arriving in CEB at 5:25 PM.

• PR 425 departing Fukuoka (FUK) on 12 July -- will operate as PR5425 (Fukuoka to Cebu), departing FUK at 4:30 PM and arriving in CEB at 7:50 PM.

• PR 891 departing Taipei on 12 July -- will operate as PR5891 (Taipei to Cebu), departing TPE at 9:30 AM and arriving in CEB at 12:00 PM (noon).

Passengers will undergo the required COVID19 testing in Cebu rather than in Manila, and quarantine at a Cebu hotel accredited by the Philippine health and tourism authorities.

Once the passenger receives a negative test result (usually within 24 to 48 hours of the test), PAL will fly the passenger from Cebu to Manila at no extra charge.

The cost for the COVID19 tests and the quarantine hotel must be borne by the traveller, whether the tests and quarantine take place in Cebu or Manila (except for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) as the government will shoulder the cost of tests and accommodation).

Passengers area advised to book their hotel in Cebu from a list of accredited quarantine hotels prior to departure and should book for at least two nights. A copy of the hotel reservation needs to be presented at check-in prior to the PAL flight to Philippines.
