HD Videos from ASEAN Tourism Forum 2016 in
Manila, Philippines
[HD videos below]
The annual ASEAN Tourism Forum is one of the most important travel
trade shows in the region.
Taking place each year in January, the
show rotates between ASEAN countries to ensure that media and
buyers not only get to meet potential business partners they may
not otherwise have met, but also so that they better understand
the destinations they sell or write about.
It also allows
exhibitors from the host country, some of whom may not have
sufficient marketing budget to exhibit overseas, to promote their
business - whether it be an airline, hotel or something else - to
a pre-qualified group of travel buyers and international media.
In 2015 the ATF took place in
Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar and in 2016 Manila, Philippines was the
host country.
The Travex component of the AEAN Tourism
Forum 2016 saw some 1,000 exhibitors connect with 457 buyers from
around the world, alongside 175 international and local media.
Below you will find most of the HD videos that
we took at the event. Not all the press conferences are featured
as we focused on the more professional and factual
presentations, rather than those which concentrated on telling
media how many awards they had won, and showing off their social
media skills.
Unlike in previous years, media at ATF 2016 were
given very little time on the exhibition floor, which is a pity as
many were hoping to interview more people from the Philippines.
Hopefully this is something which Singapore, the host country of
ASEAN Tourism Forum 2017, will address, as it makes far more sense
to bring media in a day or two early so that all the NTO media
briefings can take place before the show starts, freeing up time
for media to work the floor and get more stories/interviews.
The ASEAN Tourism Forum 2017 will take place
16-20 January.
Myanmar (Burma) Tourism Update 2016 - HD Video. Ms. Aye Kyi Kyi, Tourism Consultant for the
Myanmar Tourism Federation gave a very good media presentation
during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2016 in Manila, Philippines. In
this video you can see most of the press conference which covers
visitor arrivals, tourism targets, number of hotels open and under
development as well as Myanmar's overall tourism strategy for 2016
and beyond.
