Sony Mobile Communications has expanded its
Xperia brand unveiling a line of “X” series smartphones at MWC in
Barcelona, Spain on Monday.
The first “X” series smartphones will include
the Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA.
The Xperia XA is powered with a MediaTek MT6755
processor, the Xperia X features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650
processor while the Xperia X Performance will have the more
powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. All three phones will ship with
Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The X and the Performance will both have
3GB of RAM, while the XA will have 2GB.
Each X series smartphone will have a curved
glass display within a rounded, continuous frame. The Xperia XA
however is a little different from the other two in that it features an
edge-to-edge display. The display on the XA is 720 x 1280, while the X and X
Performance are full HD (1080x1920).
The X and X Performance both have a 23MP rear
camera and 13MP at the front. The XA has an 8MP camera at the
front and 13MP at the back.
All three phones have a micro SD card slot
capable of holding up to 200GB. Internally, the X has 32GB, the
Performance either 32GB (1 SIM) or 64GB (2 SIM), and the XA has
just 16GB.
The battery in the XA is 2300 mAh, the
Performance has 2620 mAh and the X has 2700 mAh.

Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA
will be available in four finishes: white, graphite black, lime
gold and rose gold, from summer 2016.
