Qatar Airways will launch flights between
Amsterdam and Doha on 16 June 2015, operating the route six times
per week with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787 is one of the latest
generation aircraft in the airline’s 158 strong fleet. This
aircraft offers 254 seats configured in two classes, with 22
fully-flat bed seats in Business Class and 232 in Economy Class.
Flying non-stop, the total journey time between
Doha and Amsterdam is six hours and 35 minutes.
Flights will be
departing from Amsterdam mid-afternoon arriving in Doha late
evening, while the return
flight to Amsterdam will leave Doha in the morning arriving into
Amsterdam in the early afternoon.
“Amsterdam is a major capital, one of the
busiest airports in Europe, and one of the most popular tourism
destinations in the world. We have been pursuing the opportunity
to open this new route for some time and I am pleased to have
achieved our ambition. We have high expectations for the new
Amsterdam-Doha flight with many passengers already booked on our
new flights,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr.
Akbar Al Baker. “Passengers to and from Amsterdam will have
the opportunity to enjoy Qatar Airways’ exceptional service and
the world’s best Business and Economy Class service while
travelling on our Boeing 787 offering them luxury and comfort.”
The new passenger services
will complement Qatar Airways’ existing freighter services to
Amsterdam, boosting capacity by 10%. Qatar Airways Cargo, the
world’s fifth largest cargo carrier, launched airfreight services
to Schiphol Airport in 2003.
