Korean Air has strengthened the partnership with
its subsidiary low cost carrier Jin Air, with new codeshare
agreements on six routes.
Korean Air will codeshare with Jin Air on the
following routes: Seoul – Nagasaki; Seoul – Okinawa; Seoul –
Macao; Seoul – Kota Kinabalu; Seoul – Vientiane and Seoul – Guam.
The codeshare means Korean Air can now sell tickets with
its marketing flight number KE on the six routes
operated by Jin Air. Whilst reservation and ticketing services on
these routes will now be offered by Korean Air, the actual flights
will be operated by Jin Air.
Members of Korean
Air’s frequent flyer program Skypass will accumulate points when
using the codeshare agreement to purchase Korean Air tickets for
Jin Air flights and will also be able to use points towards ticket
purchase.
Korean Air and Jin Air are working
closely together to accommodate the requirement for premium, full
service and low cost air travel, which may in some instances see
both airlines operating on the same route if there is the demand.
Jin Air’s aircraft maintenance is undertaken by Korean
Air.
The codeshare will commence when the authorities
from all the concerned countries approve the agreement.
