Hospitality Financial and Technology
Professionals (HFTP), producers of the Hospitality Industry
Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), has confirmed that
it will expand the event globally by also producing HITEC Europe
and HITEC Asia in 2017.
HITEC Asia and HITEC Europe will follow
the format of the original and hugely successful HITEC, which is held each year in a
different city in the United States.
“Expanding HITEC to Asia and Europe has been a goal HFTP has
worked towards for some time and I am thrilled we are ready to
take the next step,” said HFTP Global President Daniel Conti,
CHAE, CAM, director of finance for the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. “As a global association with members spanning
six continents, we believe that the expansion of HITEC will be an
opportunity to build the exchange of information within the
hospitality technology community, which has gained great
importance within the industry.”
HITEC 2015 was
held 15-18 June at the Austin Convention Center in Texas. The
event attracted 6,051 hospitality
professionals representing 55 countries.
The conference, which had
over 115 speakers with 70 educational sessions, addressed
important issues including system selection, mobile and guestroom technology, data security, PCI compliance and more.
The exhibit
floor was home to 823 exhibit booths showcasing the latest in
hospitality technology products and services.
“After 43 years, HFTP has built the resources for a successful
event which has continued to build annually,” said Frank Wolfe,
CAE, HFTP CEO. “We have recently worked with other hospitality
allied associations on smaller events in Asia and Europe, and are
confident that combining that experience with the HITEC team will
result in two more events that will be of value to the hospitality
technology industry at large.”
