Etihad Airways has confirmed that it will add a
fourth daily service between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok from 1 July
2015.
Operated by a B777-300ER aircraft, the new service will
increase the number of round trip flights which Etihad Airways
operates between the two cities to 28 per week, and add
approximately 5,000 weekly seats to the route.
“Bangkok is one of the most popular destinations
in our global network. The route has strong year-round demand and
attracts guests from across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, Africa and
Europe,” said Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways Chief Strategy and
Planning Officer. “The
new service – with its attractive timing and convenient two-way
connections – will make ours a more competitive and attractive
offering for business travellers and holidaymakers to Thailand, as
well as travellers based in Thailand.”
Etihad
Airways launched its Bangkok route with daily flights in April
2004. The Thai capital was one of the airline’s first long haul
destinations. It added a second daily service in June 2006 and a
third daily flight in April 2012.
