Thailand-based Compass Hospitality has expanded
its operations to the United Kingdom, with the management take-over of The Lion
Hotel Shrewsbury in Shropshire and The White Swan Halifax in West
Yorkshire.
The Lion Hotel, with a rich heritage dating back
to the 1600s, is
well-known for its Dickens Suite which the famous English novelist
Charles Dickens stayed in whenever he visited the hotel.
The 59-room hotel features The
Hayward, a restaurant which serves a traditional British menu for lunch and
dinner, as well as The Oak Bar where guests can lounge with tea, coffee,
cakes and healthy light snacks.
There are also several function
rooms including the elegantly domed Adam Ballroom where weddings,
private dinners, conferences and Christmas parties are hosted.
On-site parking is available.
The White Swan comprises
2 functions rooms as well as 40
guest rooms and suites, all of which have in-room Wi-Fi connectivity.
Located in
the heart of Halifax Town Centre, guests staying at The White Swan
enjoy easy access to a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and
museums, while the convenience of public transport connects to
nearby towns such as Leeds and Manchester.
At The White
Swan, traditional English breakfast is served with a wide
selection of petite options. The hotel also has a lounge where guests
can relax with tea, coffee and light snacks.
Compass Hospitality's President & CEO, Harmil Singh said, "As
the U.K. gains momentum in its economic recovery, our operational
presence there will enable Compass Hospitality to grow its
footprint and expand to wider Europe. Our business partners and
guests will also benefit from our geographical and market
expansion."
