Starwood has expanded its portfolio of hotels in
Russia with the opening of the Sheraton Ufa Hotel, a new build
property located near the southern stretch of the Ural Mountains.
Developed by Granelle Real Estate, the hotel marks a Starwood
debut in the oil-rich capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
“Ufa, as an emerging market, presents another
tremendous expansion opportunity for Sheraton, and we are proud to
be the first internationally branded upscale property to open in
the region,” said Dave Marr, Global Brand Leader, Sheraton Hotels
& Resorts. “Sheraton Ufa builds on the brand’s first mover
advantage and we are excited to partner with Granelle Real Estate
LLC to grow the Sheraton brand in Russia.”
Sheraton Ufa is within close proximity to key
government institutions, banks, and multinational corporations - in
addition to Congress Hall, the main conference center in the
Republic of Bashkortostan.
For guests in search of cultural
diversions, Ufa is also home to the Bashkir State
Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Nesterov Art Gallery, the
Bashkortostan National Museum, as well as numerous
historical sites.
Spread across nine floors, Sheraton Ufa features
150 guest rooms and 11 suites designed by Christian Lundwall. Each space boasts
interplays of cedar wood evoking regional architectural styles and
also comes equipped with air conditioning, a fully stocked
minibar, and high-speed internet.
An ideal choice for meetings and events,
Sheraton Ufa has more than 9,500 square feet of function space
across a ballroom and 13 versatile meeting rooms. Together these
rooms can accommodate up to 1,000 individuals.
Sheraton Ufa also has a restaurant, Club Lounge,
spa and fitness center.
The property is a 25-minute drive from Ufa
International Airport, which has international connections to
countries across Europe and the Middle East, as well as domestic
flights to many Russian cities and towns. And with Ufa Railway
station, a stop on a historic branch of the Trans-Siberian
Railway, the city is further linked by train to the rest of
Russia.
Starwood currently has seven hotels in Russia,
representing five of its brands.
