To strengthen awareness and appreciation of
Chinese music, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will host
what it is calling the “Our People, Our Music 2014” concert, which has attracted 4,919
participants, including 3,745 orchestral members and 1,174 choir
members.
The concert will take place at the
newly-built National Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub on 28 June
2014.
Choreographed by SCO’s Music Director, Tsung Yeh,
the concert programme is made up of pieces that represent
“Nostalgia”, “Dream”, “Drive”, “Future”, “Energy” and “PossibiCity”.
SCO General Manager, Terence Ho said,
“Through OPOM concert, we hope to develop, strengthen and unite
all the Chinese orchestral groups and Chinese music lovers.
Furthermore, we aspire to deepen and broaden the development of
Chinese orchestra and make Chinese music become more influential.
We are proud to be the first arts and cultural performance to
christen the newly-built National Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub. I
am sure this concert will be well-received by young and old alike.
We welcome everyone to attend this one of the world’s largest ever
Chinese orchestral concert!”
Ticket sales start from tomorrow (26 February 2014)
and cost Sin$10 and Sin$20 available from Sports Hub Tix or all Singpost
outlets.
