The State of Terengganu in Malaysia attracted
some 4 million visitor arrivals in 2013, of which 800,000 were
from overseas.
Terengganu, which includes some of
the world's most beautiful islands in its portfolio of tourism
offerings, is aiming to reach 5 million visitor arrivals in 2014.
In this exclusive HD video interview with
the Chief Minister, YAB Dato Seri Haji Ahmad
bin Said, which took place on 16 April 2014, you will learn more
about tourism in Terengganu. You will discover how many hotel
rooms there are, and how the government would like this to grow -
and in which sectors, you will also discover which markets are the
top five for inbound tourism and whether Terengganu is looking to
diversify this mix further.
We ask about the Duty Free Island
being constructed in Kenyir Lake, why there are no international
hotel brands in Terengganu and whether any are planned, and we
discuss aviation and what the government is doing to attract more
direct flights - such as the two new flights AirAsia is about to
launch - to the State. All this and much, much more.
