[HD video below] The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin and Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort recently held the fifth Hyatt Open at the Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand.

The annual event is organized to raise money for a worthwhile cause, and to promote Hua Hin as a golf and wellness destination.

The Hyatt Open 2014 attracted 132 players and was sponsored by Kiatnakin Bank, Lawton Asia, Mercedes Benz, Task Interior, Thai Airways, Qatar Airways, Garuda Indonesia, International New York Times, Post Publishing as well as some twenty Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.

The charity auction, organised by Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Thailand, raised just under 1.2 million Baht for Baan Wang Pla elementary school. The funds will be used to renovate the school’s canteen, kitchen, toilets, class rooms, sport field, tables and chairs. Baan Wang Pla elementary school is located in a very remote area of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, about 2 hours drive away from Hua Hin.

“We are humbled to see overwhelming enthusiasm from the 132 golf players who came from 31 countries and 80% had played at least once before at a past Hyatt Open. We already received enquiries from players for next year’s tournament which will be held at Banyan Golf Hua Hin in July 2015,” said Gordon Fuller, Area Vice President, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok.
