Air Astana has launched direct flights between
the intriguing city of Astana in Kazakhstan and the colourful city
of Bangkok in Thailand.
The service will initially operate twice
weekly on Mondays and Thursdays and is additional to the existing
daily direct service between Almaty and Bangkok.
The Astana -
Bangkok route is being operated with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft
configured in a two-class configuration with with 30 Business
Class seats and 193 Economy class seats.
The service from Almaty
to Bangkok was first launched in 2003 and since then 430,000
passengers have flown on the route.
The new service
marks another significant step in developing the network of
international services connecting Astana, the young and vibrant
capital of Kazakhstan with the capital of Thailand and onwards to
destinations including Baku, Beijing, Bishkek, London, Omsk, St
Petersburg and Tashkent, which have been introduced since 2012.
“With business and leisure traffic between Kazakhstan
and Thailand continuing to grow strongly, we are delighted to
launch this new service between the two capital cities,” said
Peter Foster, President of Air Astana. “Passengers flying on the
route can enjoy Skytrax award winning service on board our new
Boeing 767-300ER aircraft."
