From the beginning of summer season 2014,
starting 31 March, Finnair Cargo will add a third weekly frequency
on the Hanoi route.
With this addition Finnair Cargo will offer
departures from Helsinki to Hanoi on Wednesdays, Thursdays and
Saturdays, and return flights back to Europe on Thursdays, Fridays
and Sundays.
On 2 June 2014 Finnair also starts the seasonal
passenger flights, which will offer increased cargo capacity
to/from Hanoi onboard Airbus A340 three times per week until 23
September 2014.
With these six weekly flights Finnair Cargo’s total
cargo capacity from Europe to Vietnam is doubled from 155 tonnes
to 315 tonnes, with 270 tonnes carried by MD11F freighter and 45 tonnes by A340.
According to IATA’s forecast, Vietnam will be
the fastest growing cargo market in the world for the next five
years.
"Finnair Cargo has been
extremely pleased with promising development in Vietnam during the
past 6 months, and is looking forward to growth on the trade lanes
between Europe and Vietnam," said Finnair Cargo’s managing
director Juha Järvinen.
