The Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour is
returning to Dubai for the third year in a row, on 12 April 2013, for a
breathtaking performance at Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard,
Downtown Dubai.
Supported by du, under its live
entertainment platform “du Live!”, and in association with Emaar
and Ford, the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2013 promises to
leave audiences on the edge of their seats, with bigger tricks, a
more stunning location and, as always, a lineup of the very best
FMX stars in the world.
“We are thrilled to once again
present the jaw-dropping action that is the Red Bull X-Fighters,
in such an iconic Dubai location. We are proud to be associated
with Red Bull for the Red Bull X-Fighters and Red Bull Racing, and‚ du Live! will continue to bring the best in live entertainment
to the UAE,” said Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications, du.
2012 saw the crowning of a new
champion in 21-year-old wonder kid Levi Sherwood and the
record-setting young star is back this year to defend his title.
However, if last year’s tour taught us anything it’s that there is
a host of riders out there who’ll be gunning for the Kiwi’s title.
It might be French hotshot Tom Pagés, the winner of Mexico’s
opening stop earlier in March, who was narrowly pipped at the post
in Sydney last year. It could be Spain’s Dany Torres, the 2011
champion who’ll be determined to fight his way back to dominance.
Or it could be a newcomer, a rookie who rocks the series just as
Sherwood did by winning on his debut back in 2009.
One
thing’s for sure, with six rounds spread across five continents,
this year’s champion will not only need big tricks but also
incredible levels of stamina, consistency and gritty
determination.

The extended World Tour 2013 kicked off in
Mexico City on 8 March. Events in Dubai (12 April), Glen Helen (11
May), Osaka (1 June) and Madrid (19 July) will follow, before the
World Tour will stop in Pretoria (7 September) for the first
tour-final in Africa.
