Philippine Airlines has launched flights to
Perth, Australia.
PAL will operate the Manila - Perth route four
times per week via Darwin, with services on Monday, Wednesday,
Friday, and Saturday.
“Passengers to and from the Philippines have
grown by more than 15% each year for the past five years,” said Perth Airport Chief Executive Officer, Brad
Geatches. “The Philippines is now the twelfth most popular
international destination to and from Perth, so this new service
is very welcome.”
PAL Assistant Vice President External
Affairs, Josen Perez de Tagle, said, “Australian passengers can make
Manila an ideal gateway to the Philippines’ top travel spots. Take
just one example - Boracay Island in Western Visayas is famous for
being one of the world’s best beaches. After
holidaying in the Philippines, Western Australians can use Manila
as a jump off point to popular Asian destinations like Hong Kong,
China, Japan and Korea.”
