Airport Authority Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Hui, has decided to step down, with effect from July 2014.

Mr Hui will continue to oversee all aspects of AAHK’s operations until his departure.

“Since taking the helm in early 2007, Stanley has done a remarkable job leading AAHK to meet Hong Kong International Airport’s fast-growing air traffic demand while providing a world-class travel experience for our passengers,” said Dr Marvin Cheung Kin-tung, Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong. “Stanley’s rich experience and in-depth knowledge of the aviation industry have helped AAHK forge closer and deeper relationships with its numerous stakeholders, including more than 400 business partners at the airport. We are grateful to have had Stanley’s leadership over the past seven years.”

Dr Cheung said that a special committee of AAHK’s Board members has been set up to oversee the global search for a new CEO.

“It has been an honour and a privilege to lead AAHK over the past seven years,” said Mr Hui. “To work with top-notch staff and the wider airport community, all of whom are completely dedicated to making HKIA the finest airport in the world, has been an immensely gratifying experience. I have decided to pursue other career interests and believe it is the right time to do so, but in the meantime, I will make every effort to ensure that the transition will be as seamless as possible.”

The Hong Kong government just recently announced that the term of appointment for Dr Marvin Cheung Kin-tung as Chairman of the AAHK has been extended for one year to May 2015.
