Kempinski has expanded its portfolio of hotels in China with the opening of the Kempinski Hotel Yixing, in the southern Jiangsu Province.

Yixing is one of the most culturally significant cities in Chinese history, and is famous for its long tradition of handmade zisha teapots, majestic bamboo forests and mysterious caves. In addition, Yixing is the birthplace of thousands of scholars and scientists.

Kempinski Hotel Yixing is located on the banks of Lake Tai, one of China’s most famous lakes.

The hotel offers 446 rooms and suites with lake views that range in size from 40-397 sqm.

Rooms feature contemporary design in a soothing colour scheme, flat-screen LCD TV, walk-in rainforest shower, separate bathtub and high-speed internet access, as well as automatic curtains and a high-tech lighting system that adjusts the room’s rightness to the natural daylight outside.

Guests on the Executive Floor (floors 57-59) can enjoy exclusive access to the Executive Lounge, where complimentary breakfast buffet, beverages, all-day snacks and pre-dinner drinks are served.

Additional benefits and services include complimentary laundry service upon arrival, complimentary minibar, use of the Executive Lounge’s meeting rooms and priority early check-in and late check-out in the private registration area.

Kempinski Hotel Yixing offers a variety of dining choices, including YuanYuan Chinese restaurant, where a wide selection of Cantonese, Changzhou and local cuisine is available for lunch and dinner.

Located on the 60th floor, Elements All-Day Dining Restaurant offers guests 360-degree views of Tai Lake and the city of Yixing. The culinary experience is a global snapshot of cuisines, including Chinese wok and steam baskets, Asian noodle station, Japanese sushi, sashimi and Teppanyaki, as well as traditional European dishes.

Le Chai, one of the first European wine bars in the city, introduces European wine culture to the Chinese tea capital, allowing guests to fully enjoy the best of both worlds.

To help maintain a healthy fitness regime while exploring or carrying out business in the city, guests can take advantage of the Wellness Centre, an oasis for body and spirit, located on the fourth floor.

Situated in tranquil surrounds and enveloped in a calming aroma, the Wellness Centre features a wide range of facilities, including an indoor swimming pool (25 x 8 meters) with panoramic views of Lake Tai and sauna and steam rooms. In addition, the outdoor terrace is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the fresh air.

Kempinski currently operates 19 hotels in China, and a new property is scheduled to open in Beijing in 2014.
