Pentahotels has been chosen by Henan Guozhiji
Real Estate Development to manage pentahotel Luohe in China’s
Henan Province.
The hotel, scheduled to open in 2016, adds to
the portfolio of current pentahotels in Hong Kong, Beijing,
Shanghai and 15 properties in Europe.
Pentahotel Luohe will join new China
pentahotels in Guiyang and Shenyang, both opening in 2014, as the
brand targets aggressive expansion in the country as part of a
global growth goal of 80 pentahotels worldwide, in operation or
under development by 2020.
The 224-room hotel will be located on the top
floors of a 37-storey complex including offices, residences and a
shopping mall.
The 180-metre-high structure is anticipated to
be the tallest building in the city and create a new landmark for
Luohe.
Luohe has over 8,000 years rich history and the
reputation for well-preserved traditional arts, including Shahe
Melody, one of four genres of classic Chinese Opera, and the
Wuyang style of folkloric painting. Multiple historic sites
include Bi’an temple which was built in the Northern Song Dynasty
(960 AD-1127 AD).
“Given that pentahotel Luohe will be in such a
visible and high-profile landmark, it is destined to become a
popular local gathering place, in keeping with our brand identity
as a neighbourhood lifestyle hotel,” Sonia Cheng, chief executive
officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, pentahotels’ management company.
Luohe is an important transportation hub in the
mid-south Henan province, accessed by major railways and roads
from key cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou. Zhengzhou Xinzheng
International Airport in Zhengzhou, the capital of the province,
is a one-hour drive from Luohe and provides daily flights to over
20 domestic cities.
