Marriott International has appointed Peggy Fang
Roe as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Asia Pacific.
Reporting to Simon Cooper, President and
Managing Director of Asia Pacific, Peggy is a key member of the
regional leadership team of Marriott International and in charge
of orchestrating its sales, marketing, revenue management, public relations and e-Commerce functions to drive business growth.
“The growth of Marriott International in Asia Pacific is
phenomenal. Our portfolio is expected to reach some 330 hotels in ten lodging brands across 16 countries by 2016. As such, I am
delighted to have such a dynamic marketer as Peggy join our team
and spearhead our efforts in promoting Marriott International’s
hotel offering within this region,” said Simon Cooper.
“Peggy is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience
spanning across many marketing disciplines. Her versatile skill
set, a passion for understanding customer behavior and a strong
Asian cultural background combined with an international
perspective make her the ideal candidate for this important
position.”
Before being promoted to her new role, Peggy was
most recently Vice President, Global Operations for Marriott International, where she spent the last two years leading a
global, strategic initiative called Future of Meetings.
Her previous roles at Marriott International include Vice President of
Brand Management, where she led the re-design and repositioning of
the TownePlace Suites brand and supported the Marriott Executive
Apartments brand; and Director of Marketing, where she developed
marketing strategies for select service and extended stay brands.
Prior to joining Marriott International, Peggy worked for
General Electric in marketing, product development and operations and was certified in Six Sigma process improvement & design.
Peggy
also had stints with Amazon.com and Homestead.com in Silicon
Valley during the early stages of the internet.
Peggy has a bachelor degree with major in
Organizational Behavior from the University of Michigan and a
master degree from Harvard Business School.
