EgyptAir and Aegean Airlines, both Star Alliance
members, have signed a new codeshare agreement.
The agreement will commence on 27 October
2013, from when, EgyptAir customers will be able to enjoy more
travel options when flying between Egypt and Greece.
The codeshare flights will affect flights from
Athens to Salonika, Rodhos – Heraklion and Chania. Aegean Airlines
Customers will be able to fly on EgyptAir flights between Cairo /
Athens and between Alexandria / Athens.
“The cooperation with Aegean Airlines will not
only enhance EgyptAir’s network worldwide, but also enhance
traffic on Egypt’s domestic destinations through increasing
frequencies and traffic on these destinations, especially Cairo,
Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan,” said Capt Hossam

Director, said, “We are happy to expand our network in Eastern
Mediterranean through the codeshare agreement with EgyptAir and
offer our customers of the two countries access to multiple
domestic and international connections via Athens, Cairo and
Alexandria.”
EgyptAir Express operates two
weekly flights from Alexandria to Athens and EgyptAir Airlines
operates 10 weekly flights from Cairo to Athens.
Being both Star Alliance members, frequent
flyers of both airlines will enjoy the same benefits accumulated
onboard Star Alliance airlines.
