[HD video below]
With just a couple of days to go until the start of the
2013 Cathay Pacific / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, you may be wondering what to wear at this year's
fun event.
This speeded up HD video shows you what the brave South
Stand Warriors were wearing as they arrived on Saturday morning in 2012.
The South Stand at Hong Kong
Stadium is where a lot of the non-rugby action takes place. It is
most definitely not for the easily intimidated, and you have to be
over 18 to enter. Once you leave the South Stand, you will need to queue up
again (and that can take a very, very long time) to get it.
The best time to
arrive is early morning. Those in the video are arriving at
around 07:15, but even by 08:00 a queue begins
to form and by 11:00, that queue is a snake of people waiting to get
in.
Once you are in the South Stand, there are lots of toilets,
plenty to drink and a few food outlets as well, so really you
don't need to leave at all. It is a lot of fun, and as you can see
in the video quite a lot of people dress up for the occasion. This
is after all, the biggest sporting event in Asia Pacific and the
largest and best Rugby Sevens party in the world!

We
have intentionally speeded the movie footage up to show you more
of the costumes. This of course does blur some of the details, and
for that reason we recommend watching it in full HD where possible. The
footage is around 1 hour condensed into just over 10 minutes, and
allows you to get an idea of some of the creative costumes on
display during the 7s weekend. Enjoy.
