[HD video below] Red Planet Hotels has launched a regional
community project on behalf of the Tune Hotels they own and
operate around the region.
The ‘For The Children’ Community
Welfare Project which launched today (20 November 2013) at 14 Tune
hotels throughout Asia, including four in Thailand, as well as
properties in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan, has been
designed to help boost educational opportunities for
under-privileged children.
The project involved Red Planet Hotels, the owners
and operators of the Tune hotels in these countries, partnering
with local charities to host a day of fun activities and learning
workshops, as well as providing donations of much-needed educational tools such as stationary and computers to the local
foundations.
In Bangkok,
Tune Hotel Asoke teamed up with
the Foundation for Slum Child Care, an organisation based at Baan
Som Wai, which is located in one of the city’s most impoverished neighbourhoods, the Klong Toey slum. Staff spent the day engaging
with children with fun, developmental toys alongside VIP guest and
famous Thai actress Khun Jeeja Yanin Vismitananda.
Meanwhile in Chonburi, staff from Tune Hotel Pattaya worked
alongside the Father Ray Foundation based in Pattaya, which takes
care of 850 disadvantaged children and students, with special
guests from the Civil Defence Association. Staff helped with
preparing food and drinks for the children and organising a host
of games.
In Songkhla Province, staff from Tune Hotel Hat
Yai spent the day at Songkhla Pattana Panya School, a centre
established promote learning and the development of
under-privileged young people in the area. Tune Hotel Hat Yai
teamed up with a group of sponsors, including Nestlé and Odean
Fashion Mall and Diana Complex Shopping Center, who played games
with the children.
In Phuket, Tune Hotel Patong worked
with children at Phuket Panyanukul School, an educational centre
focusing on stimulating sports-based learning activities and
providing support in occupational education. Staff were involved
in activities and also presented the children with gifts.
Red Planet Hotels Chief Executive Officer, Tim Hansing, said the
initiative was part of the company’s drive to generate and sustain
positive and meaningful relationships with local communities.
“We are rapidly expanding our presence in Asia, and it is
important for us that we do not become ‘just another hotel brand’. Through projects like ‘For The Children’, we aim to generate
positive change within local communities that support the stable
growth and wellbeing of neighbourhoods,” said Mr Hansing.
Red Planet Hotels owns and operates 14 Tune hotels in Thailand,
the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan and will soon expand the brand
in South Korea and Taiwan. Globally, Red Planet Hotels has an
